If you have been the only owner of this CRD then unless you specifically had them install the Euro TC then it virtually certainly only has what I call the 2n gen OEM because 1) the 1s gen OEM with the plastic part was only installed on very early 2005s and any that missed being replaced under the F-37 recall would have failed years ago; 2) all F-37 TC replacements and subsequent production models got the post F-37 2n gen OEM TC; and 3) the Euro TC did not come out until after production of the 2006 model year ended although I know a few folks got the Euro as part of a late F-37 on a 2005 model only because they paid extra for the part.

If you are not the first owner and all vehicle service was done by a Jeep dealer then based on the VIN a Jeep dealer should be able to pull the records which should, if dealer service departments followed corporate policy, show what service was performed. That might tell you if the TC was replaced as part of the F-37 and when but likely won't show what the TC was replaced with (e.g. 2n gen OEM vs. Euro)

Is it shuttering? If so, most service managers don't care which TC they slide on so pay the extra for the Euro and no labor. If it ain't shuttering get the GDE hot tune, flog it, and it will soon enough. :grim:

You mean is it putting up storm covers over the windows on your home? Big wooden or metal shields to keep out debris in hurricanes? I didn't know our transmissions could do that!

I've also heard rumors about our torque converters shattering... Which I don't believe they do that either, breaking into thousands of little pieces on the highways...

Now if you are asking if the torque converter is shuDDering, shaking, feeling like you are driving over rumble strips on the highway... THAT is something that our torque converter does when it is on the way out.

The English Language and punctuation. It's amazing how such a small difference can show whether you know your crap... Or you know you're crap.
