FYI if you want/need to route wiring from the engine bay to the cab and on to the driver's side fuse block there is a nice usable grommet location. From the engine bay look behind and slightly left of the fuel filter bracket for an unused grommet about 1" in diameter with a raised center. From the cab look above the go pedal for an oval fitting with a 1/2" or so hole in the middle. This appears to be the location for the throttle cable for the gasser KJs.

To route the wire:
1. remove the fuel filter head and push to one side;
2. remove the over designed fuel filter head mounting bracket (2 bolts at the top and 1 not too hard to reach one at the bottom) - NOTE feel free to cut the bottom 1/2 of this bracket off just below the flange on the side so that the bottom bolt is no longer neaded.
3. with a new or near new box cutter or utility knife cut an "X" in the grommet. I'd recommend not removing the grommet as reinstalling it appears to be near impossible. Wires can now be routed thru the gromment.
4. for ease of access to the fuse block you can pop the small rectangular trim plates left and right of the steering column (just pull them out by hand as they are only held by retaining clips on the sides) and the large trim panel under the steering column can also be pulled loose from its clips at the top edge to let it rotate down on sort of plastic hinges. I think those hinges can be popped loose but did not try to do so.

Yes, I also used that grommet for routing switch into cab for my Edge module. I totally agree and have experienced removing and trying to reinstall those firewall grommets. I think I got mine back in okay but recently helped my son install amp wiring in his Accord and yes, it was impossible to get back fully seated. Not only cramped but seems like it was a double sided seating grommet :furious:
