Hi all, especially papaindigo, as you have been very helpful during my timing belt change.

I am still getting a P0069 code. MAP sensor is clean, but I pulled it to be sure. It throws the code and I have limited power until I clear it with an OBD2 tool. Comes back within a few minutes when I come to an idle.

I am ready to order a new MAP from Summit, but is there anything else I should look at?

Thanks

Don

Check the sensor that is plugged into the inboard side of the airbox. Not the MAF one on top, but the one right side as your are facing it. Make sure it's plugged in tight.

I just had these off during the timing belt job,so it is tight and has been reseated.

I could replace them.......

The code indicates that the signals from the MAF (air flow leaving the air filter box) and MAP (intake manifold pressure, on the top of the engine cover) aren't tracking with what the computer expects.

Before you buy and replace sensors, clean them and then inspect the hoses (CAC) from the turbo to the FCV also.

Maybe someone here has some pointers on sensor diagnostics...

Hopefully the code isn't a precursor to FCV/EGR issues.

By the way.. since you just did the timing belt..

Did you remember to replace the plugs that go into the holes you put the cam alignment pins into? Perhaps you have an air-leak!

And double-check the hose clamps.

I did not use alignment pins, just marked the gears with a sharpie.

This was an issue before I started the project, so I am confident that it was not incurred during the service.

New Samco CAC's, so it ain't a hose.

I am wondering if I can look at live data with my OBD tool and determine a faulty sensor???

Yea.. I have a ScanGauge II. If we could get some G2 from the factory fellas lurking here maybe I can figure out how to get it to send the codes and read those deeply buried secrets..

It will read the normal stuff - intake air temp, manifold pressure, etc out of the box.

When I read the live data from my scan tool, all I can see is that the manifold pressure does not change much throughout the RPM range.

I am going to change the sensor in the airbox and see what happens.

I travel throughout the week, so I only have weekends to take stabs at it.

Meanwhile, my wife drives my Audi. If it takes too long to fix, she may not give it back.
