Paineman,
Before you go that route check the following.
This condition happened to several members causing air in fuel coming from the fuel filter housing.
Remove fuel / water separator filter housing from engine bay and then separate the fuel filter from it.
Notice that on top of the fuel filter there is a small black 1" diameter rubber gasket, now turn the housing upside down and check to see that the fuel head does not have an extra 1" rubber gasket attached to it left there unnoticed from a previous fuel filter change.
The old gasket sticks to the head and because it is located below the head, it goes unnoticed forcing the new filter to separate from the housing causing air gaps and tightening it will not cure the condition.
The color of the fuel separator bottom is black the same color as the gasket, feel for it at the base of the threaded rod with a screw driver..... It is often missed.
Wear plastic gloves.
