Will blocking the EGR valve help throttle response, mileage, hp, and torque? I know it will trip a fault code. Thanks in advance!

Without doing a quick search, I think the general overall answer to everything is no. But it's way more complicated than that and I think blocking it off may cause more problems then just tripping a code.

I've researched so much about our EGR valves that I can't remember where I've read what anymore. Maybe someone else can point to a good thread to read.

There is speculation that all EGR valves installed beginning in May of 2005 are a newer, redesigned version that do not fail as much.
