Take a look outside the CRD area of LOST, there is a 4x4 section with lots of lift stuff. The spring rates are the difference for the CRDs, but you'll find posts/pics of CRD folks in that section with what they recommend. In general, folks like OME kits or kits that use OME springs combined with spacers. The frankenlift is really popular. Personally, I'd like frankenlift front and the deaver springs in the back, but I'd consider myself to be in the minority. |

You can't go wrong with fitting OME shocks and springs all round - mine go on next week. Hockey pucks at the back and teraflex at the front to extend the bump stops. |

OME seems to be a popular choice, with suspension tuned specifically for the KJ... I am installing this next weekend (790 coils/90009 sport struts up front & 948 coils/60069 sport shocks in rear), can't wait to get rid of the Daystar and mushy springs |

I also have the JbA1/4" spacers and Moog top plates (for the front obviously) and new isolators on the front as well. |

Isn't that a shop job? |

I like my 1.5" lift from H&R but you would have to find someone to import it for you into the US, they were never sold in the US. |

Isn't that a shop job? Good set of tools and coil compressing kit are all that's required. I actually did the front yesterday afternoon and will resume this AM with the rear, which is the easiest. I've done suspension jobs on many occasions, so I feel pretty confident when replacing them... |

If you have ever serviced struts you can do the front. It is quite easy if you know how to spin and twist the strut from the mount while on the KJ |

The Moog top plates are the plates that mount the front shock to the vehicle - a lot of people strip these parts out from the old shock setup and reuse them but I didn't want to do that for various reasons. I used new isolators by Moog as well. The JbA spacer goes on top of the top plate (so between the mount and the vehicle body) to give a bit more lift. |

Dynopax - have you had any problems installing the 90009 and 790 fronts? I ask because my dealer (who is actually very good) cannot get the b*ggers to fit! They assembled without any issues, but the tech - a very skilled man I must say, can't get the units on so that a) he can get the upper ball joint reassembled, b) the driveshaft seems to be at one hell of an angle, and c) he can't reattach the sway bar. The shock itself is about an inch longer than the stock unit. Any thoughts or are we missing something? |
