My Jeep is likely overdue for a transmission service and my mechanic friend referred me to a guy that is supposed to be very famililar with Chrysler tranmissions. Overall I haven't been having any shudder or other serious symptoms, however I do get the occasional hard shift from 2nd to 3rd, and after reading a few threads on here about the fluid drain back problem I've found the revving the engine a little in neutral in the morning seems to alleviate this problem. So anyway, aside from a fluid and filter change, and short of a new TC or anything that requires dropping the whole tranny, what else should I consider? Would a shift kit/transgo kit be worthwhile right now? And while we're on the topic, what are the advantages of adding a shift kit, other then "firming up the shift points". I don't do a lot of towing, but when I do it will be for longer distances with about a 1200lb trailer. Is this a worthwhile upgrade?
