i am having trouble with my HID turning my CEL on. i can clear code and drive around for a week with out turning the lights on and the CEL off, as soon as i turn the lights on i get a CEL that pops up and says that i have a low O2 sensor reading. is there even an O2 sensor on these?

Search this forum and the General forum for some of the old chats on the issue of these lights triggering a CEL. I haven't paid much attention but I seem to recall there is some sort of work around

I gave up and removed the HIDs and just threw in 6000k halogens from ebay. They look fine and I've actually had a few people ask me what HID's i was running. The voltage spike that the ballasts require to ignite the bulb is what shocks the electrical system and pops the CEL. I bought a 12v audio capacitor which i was going to run in between the battery and my power relay for the HId's. This would theoretically absorb the spike. But i never installed it.

i love the lights, only thing that sucks now is that in new york any vehicle under 8500lbs has to be plugged in even the little jeep diesel now. i got mine inspected 4 days before the law came into affect here so i have til july of next year, looks like i am going to have to throw the halogens back in when the time comes just so i can get it inspected. i was hoping someone would have figured out a fix yet.

Why not just stay legal and keep the halogen bulbs in.It's illegal to run HID bulbs in a halogen housing,no way to properly aim them and only blinds oncoming traffic no matter what you think.
