I have no power coming out of the plug when the KJ's tail lights are on, brakes and turn signals work. Fuses, circuits are all seated well and not tripped Suggestions? |

Check for a blown fuse in your fuse box again. I had the same issue in by 2011 Ram 2500 where I had brake and turn signal lights and no tail lights and it was a blown fuse. |

Was this working previously or did the dealer just install the plug If the latter I can tell you two things. One, yours does not have a factory installed EVIC Two the dealer didn't install the needed "supplemental" cable Now you want to know how I know and what the evic has to do with it. Simple. The same wiring that is installed for the factory Evic includes wires to the plug in the rear quarter panel where the dealer installed the towing harness. Many years ago when us "old timers" were setting up our CRD's for towing this was a common topic. Now if it has been working then stopped check to see if the power outlet/lighter on the dash works. The signal to turn the power on is piggy backed there. Then there's supposed to be a fuse out by the battery, that's the power. That's IF they followed the directions, I wired mine more like a factory install

This is funny, went through the same thing a month ago. There are two harnesses you need for you trailer, the first has already been installed, it does the signals, and brake lights only. The other harness is listed as only needed if you do not have an EVIC, That's BS, It piggy backs on the first harness, and sends running lights, and 12v to your trailer. Purchase the second harness, install it and your good. |
