All, I was wondering the lots yesterday and came across this; I looked at the CarFax and could not see any damage but this thing was a coorporate rig so I doubt any mods were made to the vehicle, I could not hear a fuel pump before starting and could not see any other mods under the hood. http://valueautosaleshelena.com/preowne ... 545W701299 Enjoy. |

Sam's noob guide is a valuable tool. I would get the VIN and have a Jeep dealer run it for service/recall records. The BIG item you are looking for is record of timing belt change, hopefully with tensioner (and idlers) and water pump replacement. Without absolute proof of a timing belt job, you're looking at a pricey maintenance item that not every mechanic is able to perform. Buying from a used (sorry, previously owned) car dealer is always chancey. They buy at auction, and try to sell quickly. |
