So, here in California we are having a "gas crisis" similar to our "electric crisis" of 2001. While not pointing fingers, I would like to point out that while gasoline has gone up $.50/gallon overnight, diesel has stayed exactly the same. Interesting, right?  I would also like to remind all those naysayers that my Liberty CRD gets 25% more MPG's than a Liberty 3.7L, who's fuel is roughly 10% more expensive... |

In Tennessee, diesel is slower to go up in price...and slower to come down. We have seen fuel shortages due to hurricane activity in the gulf. Diesel is usually the last thing to sell out. |

I tell them mine runs on WVO and I use 8-10 gallons of veg oil for every gallon of diesel I purchase. |

Yep i seen that in the news this week I wish we would see that price change around in PA. here diesel is often about what premium gas is going for, maybe a few cents more or less but its been 3.899 to 4.099 at most fulling stations for months. |

The mentality of most gasser only owners is that if an Auto company would develop an SUV with a 1,000 HP engine that got 100 MPG, but the fuel cost 10% more than gas, they would not buy it because the fuel costs too much. The real "Why", is the math is too complex and they can't figure it out.

you know what else...... when they complain about the price of gas I say how much is it? and how far does ur SUV go on a tank? then they ask well don't you know.... you buy gas too. right? ME... nope not bought gas in a few years. them.... Is your Jeep ELECTRIC then? as if they never heard of diesel.then you explain it and the 20-30% better fuel economy with diesel and the slight price difference..... you can see them try to grasp it as the gears in their little heads turn then they say but it costs more per gallon it can't be cheaper. Just like warp says they don't get it |
