Odd, I've been looking around for a 2.5 lift but they all say not for CRD that I've found. Just looking for a cheaper lift like the Daystar one. Suggestions? Thanks

Murchison Products (here in Australia) has both 2" and 3" lift kits for the CRD. Most of the lifted CRDs over here use his gear. It's heavy duty and especially designed for the CRD. Uses specially made King Springs, and OME shock/strut equipment. These lifts have stood up to everything the Australian outback can throw a them.

I have run the 3" lift for four years now and no problems at all.

I'm not posative but I believe the reason for small lifts or no lifts being available for the CRD is because the left axle shaft is to short to allow it :grim:

I suggest lifting 1 inch.
The beast was lowered for the primary driver, the mom with crazy kids, for stability.
I used Jeepin by Al arms so you can replace ball joints.
Suggest you do not spend the money like i did for the OME springs and shocks.
Just get good springs and good shocks with 1 inch lift, your front end parts will live longer for it. just my opinion.

The OME 790 coils are the only good option to lift a CRD.Otherwise your still stuck with sagging, wornout, rough riding, bad shocks if using the daystar spacer lift and all the other coils are rated under the OEM CRD coils so you'll sag faster and have a terrible ride still which makes braking and other safety concerns a scary thought.

You heard it from the man.
The OME coils are good, just make sure you get the right ones.
Shocks too, get the right ones.

I fitted OME 790 at the front and 948 at the rear with OME Nitrocharger Sport shocks. The ride is so much better, the lift is about 2.5" and the handling is also improved.

I am running the same lift on my CRD, but I have rancho's in the back. (I am not a fan of the Rancho's and will be replacing soon) I am running a 265/75/16 tire with wheel spacers. Had to do the typical trimming, pounding the pinch weld.

The OME 790's are definitely the best idea.

However the reason the 2 1/2" lifts say Not for CRD - is because the drivers side CV is shorter on the CRD than the V6
so when you try to install it - you have very high odds of tearing the CV boot.
That's the reason Daystar started saying the 2 1/2" is not for the CRD and All-J's stopped the CRD Frankenlift with spacer.

That doesn't mean it can't be done - I ran the Daystar 2 1/2" for a couple of years before OME decided to make the 790 coils.
and a couple of folks are still running the CRD Frankenlift with 3/4" spacer on 790's
if you can get it assembled it works great - but many people have torn CV boots trying it
so the companies don't want to sell something with that failure rate - so they label them 'Not for CRD'
