This is my head gasket I took off that I need to replace, I need someone to tell me (for sure) how many notches or holes for the thickness. http://www.davidhaggart.com/Autos/VM-En ... &k=CXQTxSn |

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=65238 Third post down is the only reference I have ever seen on where to look for the holes or notches. Plenty of info to be had in the service manual on what the holes mean, but nothing on where to look for them. GreenDieselEngineering wrote: A portion of the head gasket protrudes on the intake side of the engine. The exposed portion is just behind the intake elbow and will have 0,1 or 2 holes (thinnest is 0 holes). It is an ordeal to access and see.

I believe the area GDE is describing is on the left side of your picture between two of the bolt holes. If so, you have a zero hole gasket which means a thickness of 1.32mm. |
