Congrats....26K on an '05 is practically new! It should serve you well with proper maintenance and some TLC. Most of these are getting up in miles now. My wife's '05 is getting ready to turn over 90K in a week or so. So far it's been a very reliable vehicle. |

Thanks, it was used as a toad for camping, my only concern is it spent its life, in the north and accompanying winters and salt. Although the ball joint recall was just done this past summer. I will be crawling under her tomm and doing a thorough inspection. JJ |

I saw one of these on Ebay a while ago. Is it red? The only thing that needs attention are the axles. They probably have significantly more miles than the rest of the vehicle. |

If it was a toad, it may have spent winters down south!! We live in NEPA where road salt is king during the winter. I've been quite diligent in keeping the underside washed frequently during the winter months...it seems to help. Also every spring after an underside pressure washing, I get underneath with a couple of spray cans of Rustoleum Industrial black and hit it well. I did this to my 2001 Ram 2500 Cummins and after 265,000 miles the underside looked good for its age. Now have a 2011 Ram Cummins and continuing the practice on this truck too. |

Congrats on your purchase! You are lucky it'll be attached to a vehicle you can drive when it breaks down. |

Conhrats that is very low miles even my 06 that has less miles than average has near 78k. that is super low but it was towed lookout for the axles and bearings to wear out sooner than the odometer might make you think they should because if it was toed wheels on the ground as most are those parts have more miles than you will ever know for sure. Also I would bet the owners were snow birds so I'm sure it saw less winters and salt which is good. you can replace an axle or bearing quicker than underbody rust |

When it is towed the transfer case is in neutral and the axles & drive shafts are still spinning. Need to check u-joints as well as axle bearings and diff fluid. |
