Any one got any pics or links to show which pipe to plug to stop the EGR working on a 2003 2.8 export?

I presume you have located the EGR solenoid on the right side (looking forward from driving position) next to the air filter?

It has a plug with two wires coming into it, a small plastic paper filter dangling from it and two small hoses coming off the top.

Pull of the outer small hose and screw in a small plastic self-tapping screw into the plastic hole in the solenoid assembly.
Then replace the hose over the screw.

The ECU does not check the EGR action on our early Export CRDs....it only checks that the solenoid is not electrically disconnected or shorted out.

I have been running for some time now with my EGR disconnected...definitely pulls much better at high speed on the open road and I am glad not to have hot soot particles going directly into the intake manifold....cannot comment on fuel economy etc.....seems the same to me but drives much better. :D

Thanks Billwill, I have located it and will plug it as soon as the snow stops here!!

Just one thing, the solenoid makes a buzzing sound once the engine has stopped running for a short time, is this just depleting the vacuum in the pipes? is it normal?
