Was there a core charge? If so, how much?

Complete long block minus accessories.

IMO 3500 is not a bad price, especially with 100k warranty. Could you ease share if you just went to the dealer and they offered a rebuilt engine? I wonder if there is a specific question to be asked and if any dealer can make this offer.

Wow! $3500 for a long block? That sounds cheap to me. When you say accessories does it include a turbo and alternator?

Chrysler was the source of the engine. Best price and best warranty.

So you called the head office or the dealer put in the order for you? thanks

The dealer ordered and then told me that I was #10 on the list. I spent many hours on the phone with CCS.

While the engine was out I had the turbo replaced(failed) and a new uprated TC installed, they had to take it off so I might as well replace it while it is all apart. I scored on labor though as they only charged $50 an hr, I am thankful for John Green Jeep for that.

Could you give more details on this?

I am in the market right now.

What all did the engine come with? Can we get another for this price?

Read the rest of the thread and got all of my answers

I called several diesel repair and rebuild shops in Missouri and Indiana none of which would touch the VM motor (too rare, no experience). I'll give credit to the shops for choosing to pass instead of learning on my dime.

Chrysler deals where quoting $6070 for a long block re-manufactured engine with a 3 years 100000 mile warranty. I had the parts guy call the warranty department to verify the term of the warranty.

Questions I have in specific. Does the engine come with Glow plugs? Does the engine come with a water pump? Does the engine come with injectors?

Is the part number for the engine you got the same as the part number for the engine I have listed?

Thanks
Jeff
