Post subject:  Time to Order Parts.... Completed

Well like it says I'm ready to order parts for the mistress....

What I want to do is the..
Timming belt everything but the thermostat, and only the front half of water pump, and serp belt.
I really need the Torque Converter done, also the shudder is bad like really bad starts around 42-43 mph
and will change the trans oil with aft +4 and both filters
I have to do the glow plugs also...I have the ETecno1 GX3123 7V steel drop in replacements (thanks to texascrd (group buy))

Well I have to decide on if I need to do the head gasket or not....I have been loosing coolant the past couple months having to refill about an inch of coolant every month...no drips...added coolant dye and have a good uv light can't find a leak anywhere so I figured that it is just burning it off...........I have a check engine light on for the MAF unplugged and also P1263 glow plug #3 bad all others ohmed at 0.7....so I think with me loosing coolant and no leak I think the head gasket it shot.

So the motor will be opened up for the timming belt should I just go ahead and go the rest of the way for the head gasket or not??? and do the arp stud change over? Amazon has the kit for $340.20 for 2 kits

I think either way I will take the valve cover off and check the rockers/lifters for play since the motor will be opened up that far might as well just inspect them as well.

So I need your guys wonderful help on what I shoud do for the HG, and where to buy all the part...

I know got everything in the basket at IDparts for $1,691.35 which include
timming belt kit, euro tq, trans filter/fluid kit, cyc. head install kit, valve cover gasket/bolts, both intake square gaskets and o-ring

Thanks in advance for the help....this forum is a really big help (should be the new updated Mopar manual for the CRD) lol

and if anyone has the tools and time to do it or help I pay for your labor/beer I can come to you or you can come here just let me know $$$ if not it will go to the diesel shop and not the stealiership

I highly recommend idparts.com
They carry write a few parts for the CRD at very reasonable prices.
I'm ordering a euro converter from them soon at $549 which includes
$100 core charge. I had an issue with a water pump last year and they
overnighted an OEM replacement with no extra charge.

And about the coolant loss, the EGR cooler may be leaking internally...

Jeepantalaktika on Ebay is where it's at. Order early as shipping takes a bit but definitely worth it.

Right now he has a Complete Kit for $493.

By Complete I mean:

Graf Water Pump Front 1/2 (100% compatibility verified in person by yours truly) + Gaskets

OEM Tensioner

OEM Idler x 2

Goodyear (OEM in Europe) Timing Belt

Fuju Serpentine Belt

Sealey Timing Pins for Intake/Exhaust

Hex Key for Flex Plate / Flywheel Timing

While the only way this could be any better is if it included VM.1085(Ha Ha, yeah right).
I got my stuff from him, and can verify him personally as a quality source.

never thought about that but that will be getting eliminated this spring when it gets warmer out...

So I contacted two place to do the work and decided for just the fun of it the dealer also

The dealer will let me get my own parts and there labor time they said it would take them 13 hours and $1350 just for timing belt, headgasket, water pump, and glow plugs

Well for now I will put off the TQ until later on when the funds come back up in couple of months

$1350 going all the way to the Head Gasket really isn't a bad price.

You better go ahead and replace your rockers/lifters while you are there for longevity sake. There shouldn't be any extra charge if you buy the parts because they have to take them out to remove the head to replace the head gasket anyways.

I might have paid $1350 for labor had I known what I was getting into had the dealer accepted me buying my own parts, most only let you buy parts from them.

Well I think I am going to do the work myself...Just ordered the the timing belt kit and rockers for idparts.....Order the ARP studs form summit also

I think I am going to just go buy the Miller VM tools 4 out of 5 just not the 1085 since I have a tool that will work buy just tighting one cam bolt at a time...since it seams like everyone has their tools rented out or just dont want to rent them out which is fine....the 4 tools are only $154 directly from Millerspecialtools.com

Once I get it apart ill have to order the HG when I know the size and hopefully idparts can get the elring HG since I wouldn't need the torque to yield bolts

Then ill just need to order the tap or hopefully a thread chaser, the piolt and couterbore

We don't sell the tools since we can't get them at any better deal than SPX Miller specialty tools. We'd stock them in a heartbeat if we could match/beat miller pricing.
