I have the p1261 code and can't get rid of it. I just spent four hours and replaced my glow plugs with the steel glow plugs and still have the nagging code. Anyone have any ideas on where to next? On the good side replacing the GP's weren't that hard or time consuming. I just followed the great write up on how to change them thanks to LOST.

Thanks
Sean

Did you clear the code with a code reader when you were done? If not, did you drive enought cycles to clear the code on its own?

Remind me what 1261 is? Is that #3?

Same code I have. I cant get it to clear either. But not exactly sure what the code means or how to to remedy it. Just that it says 'glow plug 1 control circuit low'.

I hopped into the jeep this morning and the light was gone!!!! I guess I just had to cycle the engine through three hot/cold cycles in order for the code to clear. Kind of wonder why the code reader was not able to clear it. Either way I am glad to have the ceramic glow plugs out of there.

Thanks for all the help

Sean
