well, the time has come to fix the suspension on the jeep. I don't desire to lift it, it's my wife's vehicle. What are some of the stock height options that you have been happy with? Also, is it time to change the springs? 106K on the ticker. There are complete assemblies for sale on rock auto for the struts. Made by moog. Any good? |

Check the FSM procedure for measuring ride height. After 50K, the left front of our's had sagged a bit, being driven almost always with only driver aboard. Since springs tend to take a "set", I opted to machine a spacer to raise the ride height on the left front rather than going with new springs. Now at 112K, my decision has proven to be wise. Ride height is still very even, side to side. I would suggest Bilsteins (only one stock ride height version). Great damping and value. OEM has inadequate damping, even when new (not to be confused with OME). DOC |

I have had great results with Bilstein in the past. Where can I pick those up at? Thanks! |

My notes from older posts say If you don't want any more height, you can go with Moog 81144 springs/Bilstein 24-139168 shocks in front and Moog 81057 or Bilstein 24-139175 shocks in the rear. The fronts are a coil over shock, sometimes referred to as a strut but it's not a true McPherson strut front. As such it's best to purchase an assembled shock/spring unit unless you have access to a suitable spring compressor. |
