Been searching but can't find what I need.

Is there a full set of R&R instructions some were?

Following Keith at GDE's instructions to swap out the torque converter. Down to a couple bolts on the tranny to the engine, trying to get the dipstick tube out, does the bolt on the top of the engine need to come out too? I have the bottom one out but can't seem to get enough flex to pop the tube out of the tranny. If so, how do you get to that bolt?

Also, the front drive shaft joints had what looked like gear oil in them? What is the oil/grease? If it is oil how do I put some back in? Thru a bolt hole?

Torque setting on TQ bolts?

If I'm reading the directions right I should have to unhook linkage, wires, or cooler lines. But should be able to slide it back enough to pull out the old tc and install the new one. Right?

Thanks for you help,
Dave

I wasn't able to pupll the stick out. You drop the tranny with the dipstick attached and the effect of lowering it will pop the dispstick off.

Believe it or not, reinstalling the dipstick from the bottom attached to the tranny was a PITA. Make sure you note how it pulls out so you can reisntall it correctly.

All driveshaft (axle/prop shafts) have boots that retain grease. A torn boot is manifested by leaking grease.

Yup, got it. Wished I had cut it off. Took for a test drive, all set. Need to get the rear c/v boot replaced on the front drive shaft so for now it's only 2wd.

Next off to see Keith for the full torque tune!

Thanks for the help.
