Hi all,
I've got a 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD (duh).

My mechanic and I have been troubleshooting a turbo problem, and he suspects that we may have a faulty PCV valve.

The local stealership wants $40+ for the part.
Can anyone help me out with a part number for the valve, what a decent price would be, and if I can just order it online?

He gave me number 5114348AB.

Then he said, "That valve is a lot bigger than normal PCV valves!"
Which makes me suspect he doesn't have the right one?

OK, it is a different valve than the one in the gasser Liberty.

#4 in the pic below is the PCV valve. On the gassers it's on the oil fill tube.

5114348AB is the right PN for the KJ CRD crankcase ventilation valve (looks like a hockey puck). It has a hose that runs to the airbox to turbo hose just in front of the turbo.

That said what's your turbo issue? I do not offhand know of any reason why the CCV would impact turbo performance. All it does is vent crankcase pressure and oil mist into the turbo intake. You can do the EHM and delete the piping to the turbo intake entirely, just disconnect the hose at the CCV; plug with plastic champagne cork or some such; route another hose from the CCV down along the frame rail to ground on install one of a variety of catch cans.

I also think your mechanic is on the wrong track. Please describe your turbo symptoms in detail.
