I agree. Trans fine. Fluid/filter change followed by immediate issues. That is the culprit. However, it is not uncommon for this to happen with automatic transmissions in general that have not had fluid/filter changes for 100K miles. Did they use a flushing machine? The use of them seems to be associated with higher frequency of this kind of problem. Crud gets moved to a place where it causes problems.

Doc, your right about that.
Here is what I've learned from the Service manager at the dealership when I was having transmission problems.
- Old fluid with high mileage on it has been known to create shifting issues when flushed with a flushing machine.
- On occasion a complete dismantling of the transmission for cleaning is necessary.
- the dealer will attempt a re-flush of the system to clear it up, this does not work all the time.
- The dealership does not like to flush a transmission with high mileage on it that has not been maintained properly and has never had the fluid or filters replaced.
- Flushing the system with a flushing machine will pull dirt through the system making it difficult to dislodge any dirt that is now stuck between the plates and gears.
In the end he said to just keep driving the car after a flush.....proper shifting may or may not return and clear itself over time. If it doesn't clear up then that is when they go to the next step.
Most of the time they prefer to just drop the pan, replace the filters and replenish the fluid instead of flushing with the machine. He said that he doesn't like headaches and that flushing machine causes headaches on high mileage vehicles.
It gets expensive.
