Hey all, rebuilding my CRD ( finally) its been off the road now for over a year and a half !! During ordering all the parts for the rebuild I accidentally ordered some duplicate parts.
So far it's mainly gaskets , also have a set of piston rings for 4 pistons, 4 brand new rocker arms and 6 used good ones.
Also If interested I have 3 great condition pistons ( I only had one damaged but had to replace all 4 as they don't sell the original p/n p2091F anymore and the replacement has a different surface although compression ration is same the new piston number is P2098F).
I'm not looking to make a profit here , just trying to recoup some costs.
Will post a complete list in a few days and parts sold to best offer plus shipping.

A fuel injector stuck open. Had almighty shuddering so pulled off interstate and called for a tow. Unfortunately my tow package at the time only allowed a tow to nearest dealer ( so car was towed to lakeshore dealership in Slidell Louisiana .
Well before I called for a tow I looked under the hood and discovered all my coolant gone :-( checked around vehicle and saw no leaks so knew it was in the motor :-(
Called the dealership and told them the situation ( I had to get a rental as I live in Florida) called them at least 5 times and advised them not to run the motor as it was full of coolant !! So what did they do? After changing the fuel injector at a price of 1500.00 they ran the motor for 5 mins until it blew :-(
Unfortunately I live 200 miles away so they had me over a barrel and I was leaving the following week to go TDY for several months. So all I could do was pay them and pay for a tow to the house , when I got it home first thing I did was drain the oil and what do you know ....... All the coolant came out !!
Got the motor removed and opened up and one of the cylinder liners windowed destroying one piston and the valves :-(
If I wasn't about to leave the area for months I would have been taking the dealership to court to fix the damage unfortunately timing and military duty prevented that so have had to suck up the costs for the rebuild!
Urgh I hate dealerships !!!
So I have been ordering parts piecemeal

Isn't there some sort of ombudsman service for military personnel specifically to assist with consumer issues?

Anyone know?

Someone risking his life so we can live the US life HAS to be treated better than this!

I completely agree. Bottom line is that A: you told them NOT to run it, and B: it blew up on THEM. Don't give up!

Not giving up !! The beast should be back on the road within a week. Unfortunately I think there is a statute of limitations on small claims :-( and my time limit is up.
I'll just be glad to get her back on the road !! Been using my 1979 spitfire as my daily driver and boy does it suck not having ac in this humid hot swamp of Florida lol

We have never had a female engine builder who is a member of the armed forces before on this forum. Very cool!

How long ago was this? Get with jag, militaryonesource.com or military community services ACS for army (dont know what branch your in). They have people you can talk to help out in these situations.

Really ??? Wow ,i have to say this is the first diesel I've ever had so its been a learning experience, and this site has been a great help through the years :-) lots of good info.

It's been a year and a half now :-( but will talk to legal this week and see what they say :-) thx for info.

Not sure if it's been posted or not on here but I have a copy of the VM motori engine service manual and parts list too. I can post a copy if it's not posted elsewhere. The only service manual I have seen on here is the jeep one . The VM motori one is very detailed , lots of specs etc.
It's been a great book for the rebuild.

Never mind just went page by page with the posted service manual and it's pretty much same.
