I know you can get the GDE tune, but is there any way to jimmy-rig it yourself to turn the EGR off from being on due to the ORM mod? I have heard of the SEGR kit, but I have yet to see it on here. Also, the GDE tune is out of my financial reach right now. I'm just thinking because if I do trade it in, why I probably won't, I would rather them not devalue it because of the CEL on. I don't think I can just plug in the MAF either, since the previous owner said the EGR was stuck. |

Thoughts: 1. SEGR - there has been some recent discussion about kits and there may be some uninstalled ones floating around. Check http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=84383 for instructions. 2. plug the MAF back in, after cleaning it, and drive a bit which should shut off the CEL if it's on because the MAF is unplugged. 3. EGR can be removed and cleaned if it's stuck in which case #2 should work if you are selling. See viewtopic.php?f=5&t=59352&p=659410#p659410 and viewtopic.php?f=5&t=62495 4. IIRC if you do #2 and if necessary #3 and want to disable the EGR without a GDE tune or CEL then you would have to plug the inlet or outlet side of the EGR piping which can be done with a blocking plate. Best long term option for a host of reasons is save up for the GDE tune. |
