I believe the part number is 4799 681. They call it "Valve, flow control" in the parts CD. Exact location would be appreciated. Thanks, DOC |

It's part of the spin on cooler filter.Aftermarket version have issues and the OE filters are re-designed to fix any issues with aftermarket and older OE spin on cooler filters. |

Glend wrote: That doesn't make sense, the anti-drainback valve is a separate part to the cooler return line filter. It screws into the case near the cooler filter but they are not the same thing. The anti-drainback valve ensures the pump and internals stays charged with fluid. Can you post a picture, diagram, etc? I thought it was the black thing on top of the spin on filter, and it came with the new filter when purchased from Mopar? I guess I was mistaken here? |

This link should take you to a parts diagram that shows it in the same area as the two trans filters. It is labeled as #17: http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/sho ... ct=4289276 |

No or I'm pretty sure no - see my post at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76498 PN 04799681 (ca. $10) is not part of either filter although it's located in the same general area, just forward of one of the filters if my vague memory of a pic I cannot find is correct (parts diagram is no special help). Whether or not it has any relation to the drain back problem I do not know but it's cheap to replace. |

I did an image search and came up with the following pictures showing the underside of the transmission with the filters and without. I think the drainback valve in question is just left of the spin on filter in the picture, but please correct me if I am wrong:

If you look at the pics in my sig you'll see 2 trans pictures. The part # listed in this post is the gold nut valve sticking down between the 2 filters. This 'flow control valve ' opens if the cooler or filter is restriced andto bypasses fluid. |

That is the rubber flap you see behind the outer holes of the filter. |

So what happens if this "FCV" sticks? If it sticks open, does the TC drain out while sitting for several hours? What bad things happen if it sticks closed? DOC |

DOC Just effects the cooler part of the trans and will not drain the TC.Will drain the cooler and lines that can foam the fluid for a few seconds before the lines fill again if stuck open,no effect if stuck closed with a good spin on cooler filter in place. |

So this bolt is not the Anti Drain Back Valve (ADBV)? But it IS the Valve, Flow Control? ![]() I have a WIX filter kit in the garage and of course nothing came with THAT spin on filter. |
