Im looking at possibly purchasing one of these units but am finding it hard to come across direct info.
Which series pump did you guys use?
The options im looking at getting are See through plastic bowl, water in fuel sensor, pre-filter screen...


BUT, Has anyone gotten the lift pump option on it, if so how did it perform to the other "insert popular here" in tank choices?
If you guys recommend against getting the lift pump built in, then I suppose you recommend the "hand primer pump" option?
Also which heater would you guys recommend, and why? The two choices they have are "In-unit heater" OR "side-load heater"

as for Stanadyne - there were one or two folks - the one I remember is RetMil46
he hasn't posted for a while, might respond to a PM
last I heard his Stanadyne was working well

I went with the Racor - it was what Jeep used in Europe/Australia on the 2.5L

I have the Racor ready to go in now. Fittings mounted etc and ready to just bolt in after a good bench prime.
Interesting thing I noted with trial fitting it that the inlet hose is kinked so much that flow could be inhibited into the filiter as it is (even in the 2006 model) long enough to reach all the way round to the front inlet port which takes the kink out. It looks like they left these things (hoses) the same length as for the 2003 models when they did actually use the Racor filter as has been stated.

I have an FM100 unit with a temp sensor, the clear bowl, and possibly the pre-filter option (don't remember that part) installed in the factory filter location. Other than struggling a little with hoses and leaky joints (my fault), it's worked like a dream. I have the mopar-spec lift pump in the tank so there's no need for a bleeder or a pump on the filter assembly. I thought about getting a NPT heater element, but it's just not cold enough here.

I have the FM100 with the top mount heater. Fuel is pushed to it by the fuel pump/canister from my Cummins. It has the fuel temp sensor mentioned elsewhere and the heater is wired to the factor harness/wiring. Bolted right up to the fire wall. I get about 8-9 psi at the filter head. It has worked without a single issue for several years now. Did one on a friends CRD as well. Only thing is you can't use the factory WIF sensor. I had one rigged up using the factory wires with a small bolt thru the water drain and a hose clamp on the filter body holding other pole of the factory sensor harness. It worked, but my modified water drain leaked and I haven't got is worked out yet. Stanadyne makes a stand alone WIF light if you feel you need it. Coolest thing is you can use a lot of filters for that head. Right now, I have a John Deere filter on there. It is just awesome to pop the hood and see a John Deere filter sitting there.
