Where can I get one of these devices everyone talks about?

There may be a few kits floating around but, while good an functional, it's "old" technology in the sense that it predates ECU tunes. IMHO you would be much better of just getting a GDE ECU tune (http://www.greendieselengineering.com/g ... ethod=home) which accomplishes the same purpose and a lot more.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind having a GDE tune, but $500 price tag is a little steep for me at the moment.

PM UFO and/or Turbo Tim.
Some of us are not GDE Tune users/lovers/followers.

Get a gde tune without even thinking for a bit! Best money spent in your crd hands down.

No offense but. .. . there are VERY few non-users/supporters/followers of GDE tunes. There is 100% satisfaction rating with those who are.

I don't have a GDE tune.
I use the SEGR.
Yes, the SEGR is cheaper but installation is more difficult.
How much time are you willing to spend soldering the circuit board and identifying wires in the harness and splicing into those wires?

Nothing against GDE tune, based on all the reviews on this site it sounds like it is a great addition if you can afford it. The price, like some others on here directed me to go to seek other options. I found and bought on this list an almost new DiabloSport Extreme PowerPuck for about half price, that with blocking off the EGR inlet pipe along with removing the CAT and installing a Flowmaster muffler made a huge difference in power and fuel mileage. I am happy right now!
I also took the advice given on here and took the CCV out of the intake pipe and added a long hose to vent underneath (elephant hose as some call it on here). So for less than $300, I got very good results. I did purchase a OBDII reader at Autozone for 39.95 so I can check and erase the CEL when it comes on when the P0401 code trips occasionally. I expected this and am willing to live with it till one day I may can afford and opt for the GDE full upgrade... :2cents:

I was hoping it was more plug n' play than splicing wires but I don't have a problem doing a little surgery-with good instruction.

I'm actually fixing to sell my CRD. When I run the jeep with the MAF sensor plugged in, it shudders in between gears at around 55-60 mph. When I unplug the MAF senor, that problem disappears.

People don't want to buy a car with a CEL AND people don't want to buy a car with a perceived transmission problem.

Y'all have any ideas on what might be causing that?

I purchased a SEGR but was not willing to splice into perfectly good wires just to make the CEL light go out. It is a lot of wires also. It is probably not as hard as I am making it out to be but then again our Jeep runs great. I will ship mine for $150.

Have you tried pulling the MAP sensor and cleaning it? a clogged one (common with oil and soot blowing by) is fairly common and it affects the efficiency of fuel metering making combusion non-ideal, which can result in many things, including shudder. It's held by allen bolts holding it onto the top back corner of the intake manifold sort of under the plastic tray that routes all the wiring harnesses on the top of the engine; the corner adjacent to the fuel filter.
