I was looking into trying to run some poly bushings on the sway bars and sway bar end link. It effectively stiffens the sway bars without changing the and it may help stabilize the car while towing.

Wrong place to buy, but great choice of springs... check JeepinbyAl

http://jeepinbyal.com

The height will hurt towing slightly, but if you adding a front bumper it is your BEST option.

I would also do rear air bags that way you don't have to worry about too stiff of a spring for normal driving.

If you want more info I could PM you, but I am running HD front/rear with steel bumpers and I still sagged a tad in the rear during my moves (I actually think I did NOT get the 948 springs in the rear like the box said)

A weight stabilizing hitch is awesome to stop rear end sag when towing

I been thinking about some airbags. But I like to trail rides as well. We planning a Colorado trip. I'M running a Hensley sway hitch. It weighs about a 100 pounds and the trailer 300 pound hitch weight. Then wanting steal bumpers so add weight. How does the airbags do off road ? But my crd has 164000 and the springs and shocks are factory so its time. But running a softer spring in the rear and airbags don't sound bad. But with a steal rear bumper and front bumper will a softer spring work?

My personal opinion, get the OME springs (790 and 948) and shocks (132L for more travel) and add two inches of bump stop. If it sags when you add your bumper THEN get air bags which won't hinder you offroad. Might be a little atiff of a ride without bumpers but mine smoothed out. Also if you want you can get JBA upper a-arms. They are better than stock but not necessary (mine are atill in garage waiting for next alignment time). About $800 depending on where you buy and shipping charges.

Are you upsizing tires?

Having towed a 5000 lb horse trailer over 20K miles with the CRD, a WD hitch is the only way to go. Bilstein shocks are the only other thing I would suggest. Stock springs are absolutely fine with a WD hitch.

I'm planning to up size on tires. I'm not sure on size yet. Maybe a 245 70 16 or a 255 70 16 not sure yet.

If you see the tire you want in the 245/70 size that would be best for towing, obviously the taller you go the more power loss you would have without regearing. I am sure a WD hitch would be enough (with Moog springs if you didn't want a lift) but with steel bumpers and normal camping gear I would be surprised if you didn't bottom out a lot even on easy fire roads. It all depends on your budget :)
