Hello All, I am having a bit of a hard time looking for a complete, and running, 2.8L CRD motor. The motor in my Liberty is locked up, and with 153k on the clock, its not really worth trying to fix it. I would like to buy a complete motor with turbo. Anybody have one? Or can you tell me where to source one? I am in the Tampa, FL area, but I will pay for shipping or pick up too. Any help would be appreciated, I need to get this thing back on the road. Thanks! Nick |

Thanks, I did see them. I would rather buy from someone here that pulled the motor or did work on it themselves. I get a bit concerned buying something like a motor on Ebay without knowing anything about what it came out of... |

That way when its done and rebuilt you now what your getting. You will be starting off with a fresh bottom end and head. Buying a used engine you will never know how it was taken car of. |

I considered that, but, since mine blew a head gasket and sucked in all of the coolant, everything is trashed from no oil. I already pulled it apart, it's junk. To rebuild it top to bottom would cost a lot due to all the parts needed. So my best bet a complete motor or long block... |

If you have a friend that is a car dealer, you can buy a very cheap crashed crd from copart.com. I think you can also register with them but you may need a dealer license. I saw crds there for couple thousands, roll over, rear end smashed, etc. This route, if you can use it, would save you lots of money. |
