Post subject:  Turbo replacement problems

Had a turbo recently blow in my 06 Liberty CRD. Replaced turbo, oil feed line, intercooler lines, cleaned intercooler, and oil/filter. Initial start up went fine; ran for 5 minutes then shut down, changed oil and filter. Started up again and encountered 2 problems:

#1 - Engine very slightly revs up then "diesels" for a couple seconds and then the process starts over.
#2 - Radiator is not apparently drawing coolant from coolant tank and radiator is pressurizing to the point coolant is spraying out the "overflow to the coolant tank" line.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

Thanks,

Jlo

Don't know how much help I can be but since no one has replied yet here are some thoughts:
1. pls add your location to your signature. Might find someone on the forum nearby that can help.
2. the obvious is to carefully go over all your dis-assembly and assembly steps. That said.
3. could the dieseling be related to improperly relocated turbo vacuum lines. See viewtopic.php?f=5&t=70602&p=757348&hilit=boost+solenoid#p757348 for at least some hint as to proper routing. Be sure you did not somehow reverse the vacuum line that runs from under the coolant tank to the black vacuum tower in the pictures with the line that goes from the tower to the turbo vane actuator assembly on top of the turbo. I'd send pictures but no longer have those items now that I have the GDE Stage II turbo and have sold my old one.
4. same with coolant hose routing. Note though that it sounds like you have the tstat to coolant tank hose disconnected while running. If so be aware that as soon as the engine starts to heat up coolant/air is supposed to come out of that line and flow into the coolant tank. That's how air is purged from the cooling system and how hot expanded coolant can get into the tank and then be recovered as it cools.
