I was looking online for a Platinum battery for my S10 that is getting restored, and noticed that Sears no longer has a listing for them. Even if I put in my CRD's specs, nothing comes up. Did they drop the Die Hard Platinum line? I sure hope not. I have been very happy with the ones I have bought...

I was just there last night and saw them. I didnt put in a specific make and model but they were there. They definitely have the marine deep cycle version too as that was what i was most concerned with.

EDIT: You're right, no Platinums under the car battery section, even though the icon for car batteries is a Diehard platinum

On other forums I've read that they are actually Odyssey batteries

Apparently they're only available in the marine style now:

Also an X-Power available through Batteries Plus:

They've always been Odyssey - but Sears was about $100 cheaper that the same Odyssey
althought the Summit link looks like they may be coming down a bit.

(Okay $296 for the Odyssey $230 for the Marine P1....)

if you can't find a Sears product - that tends to be a sign they're changing something - Name? Design? supplier?

So the platinum marine battery listed about would be the best alternative to the regular battery that is no longer offered? I'm in the market for a new battery, and I was going to buy that battery but now I can't find it anywhere around me.

Any good group 34, AGM preferred by me at least, battery with 700CCA (same as stock but 800CCA is better) that will fit will do fine. Some have obtained decent batteries at Costco, NAPA, and places like AutoZone at various price points. The Interstate MTP-34 is a solid battery for a decent price with a pretty good warranty.

Well it looks like they went to a different source for their AGM battery (Diehard Advanced Gold AGM Battery). According to one guy on the ih8mud forum they are Deka Intimidator AGM's. I don't know if that is true but according to Consumers Report they are THE WORST AGM's in the CR testing (see link below). That just sucks. Sears had sourced arguably THE BEST battery to slap their name on and now they got penny wise and pound foolish.

Never used a Sears battery. All my friends have had issues with them.

800 CCA battery is needed!
