Wondering what you guys think the value of my 2005 limited crd would be. It is loaded for the most part, I think the only missing options are the sunroof and heated seats. I would say the condition in a 8 out of 10. There is a small tear in the drivers side seat and the drivers side rear window wont go down but you can hear the motor working. It has 79,000 miles on it now but that slowly goes up with time. The torque converter was replaced by the dealer and it was tuned down at that time as well. If I were to put it up for sale what should I ask?

The kbb says anywhere from 10 to 11k. When I go on ebay it seems as though the limited crd with around 80,000 miles are going for a bit more. Think I should start at 11,000?

Out here on the west coast that would seem to be about right. Anyone familiar with these would probably try to get you down a bit closer to 10k as its going to be timing belt time any day now, but the lower mileage is in your favor.

I'd suggest just popping the door panel and fixing the window issue - if its what I'm thinking its a common problem in the regulator and not a big deal. Easier than explaining it to a prospective buyer. Also if its a cloth cushion a trip to the junkyard and $50 can probably fix that.

I would prefer the cloth seats but this one has leather. Is there a place that would be better suited on this fourm to place it up for sale or should I try here?

The broken window regulator might be covered under the recall within the last two years or so. Check into it, and definitely get that kind of thing fixed before you sell it--that $250 to fix will translate to $500 more when you sell it.

My 2005 driver side window stopped working just two weeks back on a Friday afternoon returning home from work. I was burning daylight and fearing a rain storm due the next day just drove to the Dealer who were able to fix it in 90 minutes while I waited. Old one was fried. $350. here in Cali. What is this you mention about a recall?
This is my first vehicle with electrics in thirty years of vehicle owning. I knew this might happen. No cranks makes me cranky!

Not a "recall" might be a TSB which if I recall correctly applied to only one model year. Unfortunately I don't recall which one 05 or 06. What I do recall is the TSB involved replacing the existing regulator assembly with the crappy plastic part with another assembly with the same crappy plastic part.

Popping the panel is pretty easy - 2 screws (behind interior door handle and in armrest; slip a stiff 1.5" wide putty knife between panel and door down by the open side corner and slid to either side until you run up against a retaining clip; lever clip out and continue around door; there are 1 or 2 clips sort of in the upper middle; front panels have window control wiring to upplug; all panels have a lock rod clip to snap off and disconnect lock rod; carefully remove white plastic water dam being careful not to get the semi solid black goo on any thing or dirt.

See http://www.steigerperformance.com/dif.cgi?SP13001 for more instructions and parts. There are cheaper Chinese import versions on eBay but I favor quality domestic products. First door might take 1.5 hrs others more like 45min. each. If you have the 1 ball fitting that the instructions say to bend parallel to the ground be sure the clip engages evenly on the back of the ball and run the window up and down 5-10 times to make sure the clip doesn't pop loose.
