06 CRD Limited, bought used about 5 months ago. It has the evic so I went through the settings and turned on the horn on lock setting as I like to hear it has locked when I push the button. A couple weeks go by and the remote stops working intermittently and gets progressively worse. I figure its the remote batt so replace it and it works for a day. Then it is hard to start one morning and the original optima was shot so I replaced it. I thought that might be the problem as I heard that a bad batt can make the electronics do weird things. Nope thats wasnt it.

Then it hit me that the only change I made was changing the horn setting. So I changed it back and what do you know the keyless system work flawlessly and had been now for about 4 months. So the horn going off when locking is messing with the system

Not sure why it does this but thought this info might help someone else.

Ours has been programmed to chirp when doors are locked from when we got at 16K miles. No known problems associated with this so far.
