Hi. I'd like to know if anyone has had any fitment/interference issues with Samco CAC hoses? My driver's side (left) hose is touching the fuse/relay box. This is actually were the factory hose just failed. I have tried turning the hose at the CAC but it still will not clear. I have done some searching but I have not found any solid answers. I am going to try playing around with it again on the weekend. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Dave |

Dave, maybe it is not the right Samco. They told me that the different models have subtle differences in the bends and form. Might be worth checking that you have exactly the right part. The part # to fit my export KJ would probably not help but checking with your supplier might. They are tight/close. I've read some complaints that they don't use the register marks on the spiggots but with some time they seem to just make it in. Good luck. |

The OEM hose have alignment markers on the hose to line them up properly so that the hoses do not touch anything. The SAMCO hoses do not have these alignment marks but I have read that it just takes a bit of trial and error to twist the hoses to a certain point where nothing is rubbing anywhere. Auberon may have a point that there may be subtle differences between year/model numbers. The early Export CRDs definitely had narrower diameter hoses. |

Auberon and billwill are correct. When I installed my samcos I messed up the driver side, I didn't connect the right end where I was supposed to and took me about an hour to set it right, so it won't touch the ac electric connector that's under the hose, or the fuse box. I'd recommend putting back the original, just to make sure you get it in right, then remove it and put the samco, using the model from the original, in the same position and with the same ends connected to intake and intercooler. Normally, with the right part number, it should fit right, without too many twists/turns. |

I basically agree. The Samco's do need, due to the lack of a witness mark, a bit of twicking to get right. The passenger side can rub on the air box side sensor if not "right". On the driver's side it's not hard to mix up the top and bottom ends as thermorex mentions and I suspect that's your problem. When the ends are installed properly that hose is ca. 3/4" away from the fuse box (essentially down and to the left, as viewed from the front, of the fuse box corner) and the only issue I've seen is with a AC? sensor (little gray cylindrical thing with small fins on one side) about half way down than can be a problem depending on which way the fins face. On my CRD I had to file the fins a bit but on stoutdogs CRD the fins were on the opposite side from the hose and were not an issue. |

Thanks for all the input. I'll double check the part number to verify that I received the right kit. (This may actually be a possibility because I swear I order black and received blue...but I was fine with either color anyway. ) I did run across an old post or two the mentioned the lack of alignment marks, so I knew that I may need to make small adjustments. I did give it a few twists and turns but it didn't seem to help. The funny thing is that I noticed that it could almost go on either way but I thought that I matched the ends...one end seems to have a slightly different kick to it. I'm going to take a look at it this weekend...it was cold, dark, and windy when I put them on so I was in a bit of a rush to finish. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks again for all the great input! Dave |
