As soon as the weather improves, I want to get to my local Chrysler dealer and have the waterpump, and timing belt replaced. For anyone on here that had the sevice done, what is the estimated time and cost for this service?

Go read the forum a bit more and for every reason you can come up with to use the dealer I bet you can find 5 other reasons why you should stay away.

Did you try GDE. Keith must be about a half hour drive from you and I know he's done work for members in the past.

A dealer once told me it would be $2,000+.

A dealer will likely charge a minimum of $1500 (probably more) and will more than likely not have the expertise or include all of the parts that should be changed while doing a T-belt job.

I went with Geordi here on the forum and I think someone provided a link to his services above. Cheaper than any shop and definitely more experienced. He is quick, precise, and comes straight to your house. My guess is a dealer will likely have your CRD for at least a day (likely more).

I'd suggest getting the IDparts.com kit, or at least replacing the same items the kit includes: http://www.idparts.com/catalog/product_ ... 1krm2enth3

Your local shop may, in fact, do water pumps and timing belts. I can pretty much say with surety they have never done one like a CRD and most likely don't have the proper tools.
