Post subject:  Help diagnosing a MAF issue

Backstory: I bought the jeep in august and it was running fine. I drove it 6 hrs home and everything was great, no CELS or anything. Once home I performed the the ORM and unplugged the MAF which obviously set off a CEL. In ~October/November I had an EGR block plate fabbed up per WWDiesel's dimensions and installed that on the EGR pipe coming from the exhaust manifold. At this time I plugged in my MAF again but still had a CEL since the EGR was blocked. No surprise here.

This whole time i was not able to read or clear any of the codes due to the scanners not being able to interface with the ECU. Come February, I finally got my Torque app to connect and read the all the codes which I then cleared. It consisted of EGR(P0402/P0401) codes and MAF(p0102 etc) codes as you would expect. I also installed a tune which eliminates the EGR functionality and prevents the P0402 and P0401 codes from occurring.

I am now getting a series of recurring codes that I cannot seem to figure out. See picture below:

I believe this has been an issue for a while, but due to my inability to read/clear codes, and the fact that the EGR and MAF were eliminated at various points, I didnt think anything of it.

I thought maybe the MAF was dead, but when I went to test the wiring, I am finding that there is no 5V power going to the maf harness. Am I missing something? When I test the MAF harness, is there a specific ground I need to use specific to the ECM or can I test to the Negative side of the battery?

FYI, I reflashed the jeep to stock at one point to check the tune and this was not the issue. In fact, with the stock tune and the EGR physically blocked, I do not get an EGR fault code, only the codes above. So it seems that my MAF simply is not work at all and therefore has no clue that the EGR is not functioning.

Sorry for the essay, I just wanted to get as much info in here as possible to try and eliminate questions.

Thanks!

Mass, one thing I ran into after blocking off the EGR feed pipe was some of the same codes you listed. The one thing I went back in and done right after blocking off the EGR feed pipe was to remove the butterfly plate in the FCV (removed the two screws and plate). After I did this, the only DAT code I ever got was P0401 which I got every time I restarted the engine. I simply left my cheap DAT code reader plugged up all the time and erased the P0401 after every start up.
Now, after the Weeks101 Elbow Kit install, and with the EGR/FCV Delete re-flash (No.4), I get no DAT codes with the EGR and FCV all unplugged and totally removed off the engine.
The MAF is still in service and plugged up! I hope to get rid of it in the future also?
Hope this helps?

That does, I actually just got my Intake elbow from Weeks yesterday so I am hoping to install it here soon.

That should solve most of your DAT's? :D
Have you done the EGR/FCV delete flash yet? :?:

Yes, it was after I flashed Yeti's EGR/FCV delete and cleared the codes that I realized the MAF was a recurring issue. I then flashed back to stock(and confirmed with an MPPS read) to verify that it was not the tune.
