I have an 05 Liberty with 200,000 miles. Started rough shift between 3-4. Shifting was fine after quick learn for several hundred miles. Had transmission rebuilt and problem did not go away. Once in a while P0234 error would trip when the engine is cold. I cleaned the MAF and replaced the boost pressure sensor. Have not had P0234 since. Shifting still degrades after a quick learn.
Transmission shop has no idea and the dealer is guessing. Any ideas?

At what speed is this rough shift happening?

Many here have posted about a rough 2-3 shift at about 20 mph.
As far as I know, no one has found a solution to that problem.

Most shift problems are related to either low fluid, bad filters, worn out transmission pump, or solenoid pack.
Could also be a clogged transmission cooler.

Most of what you mention was replaced or repaired with tran rebuild less than a month ago. The roughest shift is 3-4 around 40mph, depending on throtle position. 1-2 and 2-3 are rough but not as bad. After quick learn shifts are smooth for several hundred miles. I'll check tran cooler - the only thing on your list that has not been fixed.

I had the rough shifting problem too. There was a post a few months where someone said clean the pins on the TCM and connector (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=79424). I did this, and I used to have the rough shifting come back invariably after about 200 miles (I used to relearn it once a week). Now, since cleaning the pins, I have driven for over a month and the shifting has only gotten better. No binds, no bangs, nothing harsh.
