Hey guys, let me start by saying I'm not having any boost issues, either under or over. Last weekend I replaced rockers, and installed arp head bolts. Vehicle was running ok, only had a hard start when cold. Rockers and head bolts were more paranoia then anything. The reason for my hard start was found to timing belt tensioner related, I have 179,000kms and all head bolts were tight, and I measured all rockers, none worn or seized at all. Mobile one it's entire life up to 160,000kms then, on the recommendations of the group changed over to 5w40 liqui moli. Over the winter the jeep developed an extremely hard start, when cold. Worried it was not getting the air it needed, triggered the repair. I have the 5v glow plugs, as soon as I heard of the ceramics breaking I converted. I found the timing belt tensioner loose, hand loose no tools needed to remove bolt, and it jumped a tooth.

The jeep is back to normal, however during this adventure repair, I noticed the turbo solenoid gets hot. After jeep was running at idle for a few minutes, I could only touch the solenoid for a few seconds before it would burn me. Does any one else notice this?

Scott

I'd parts, of course... Even with shipping and brokerage fees way cheaper then dealership, even working at the local jeep dealership. Cost for rockers, 1500.00, I'd parts 380.00. Good score.

ID parts is only 40 min from me. I did not see the ARPs on their site. ID did not respond to email/phone on Saturday and ordered from Summit. Would prefer to give ID the business.

The other day I noticed the turbo vacuum solenoid was very hot and lightly buzzing. No boost problems and no codes.
Must not be a big deal because few have posted about this issue.
