I searched and searched, but could not find the maximum oil pressure of the CRD........maximum as in cold startup. I plan to install an oil pressure / voltage combination gauge in our 2006 CRD. Two sending units are available 0-100 and 0-150 psig. Of course the 0-150 is more expensive that the 0-100. Thanks |

Can't say 100% on the VM, but most engines have pressure reliefs set at 80psi. |

Mine will easily peg my 80psi gauge on a cold start. I believe it will be over 100. |

100 + psi is an awful lot of pressure. Usually you want to see 10 psi per 1000 RPMs. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk |

I'm only talking about a cold start when the oil is very thick. Normally with hot oil I have 35psi at 2000rpm. Idle is 17psi. |

Idle at 17 sounds right from the main gallery that I had my probe in. Cold start could be over 100, the gauge didn't read that high and pegged. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

So, a 150 psi gauge is a good idea? It seems like a 120 would be a good option if available. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk |

I will order the 0-150 psig sending unit. The gauge is digital. Thanks. |
