All of a sudden it seems to take more cranking to start. It's not running rough or smoking just takes more cranking. It looks like it has the old part number fuel filter/heater unit- first generation I think its called. Is this a symptom of air getting in? |

it would be worthwhile to update the filter assembly. Remove fuel heater connector and check for any sort of burnt/melted plastic. On fuel head closest to driver door. |

No evidence of burning on the connector. |

Sometimes a weak battery will do that...... cranks fine but not enough juice to power the electronics. From my experience, you need approx. 12.9 - 13.2 volts at the battery before cranking. Get yourself a trickle charger at wally world. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Schumacher-XM ... p/15140193 ... and let the battery charge over night. |

I had the same problem. New battery helped but what really helped was a lift pump under the hood. I wired it into the existing wiring too. Fires up right away every time. |
