I removed the rubber anti-vibration sleeves from the pins in my front calipers a few months ago, but suspect the calipers might still be dragging a little too much. Each front wheel takes a pretty good force to spin the tire 1 3/4 rotations, where the rear wheels spin freely. I don't know that the amount of brake dust on the front rims is unreasonable at this time.

If possible, I'd appreciate if somebody who knows their front brakes are not dragging would spin their front wheels to check the amount of rotation. I know the amount of force applied would be subjective, but it would at least give me something of a comparison.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Steve

If you are saying that a firm spin by hand yields 1 and 3/4 revolutions, you have the freest spinning front wheels on a KJ on the planet. On stands, at ride height or full droop?

Doc,

I jacked up each front wheel separately, with the jack under the lower control arm, and spun them firmly. Each side spun equally, but I thought each was a little too "tight". From your words, I suppose I don't have a problem, so that's good. Since I've owned the Jeep (got it in '06 with 26,000 on it), I've greased the hub bearings annually through the ABS sensor hole. I guess that's had a positive impact, as intended.

Thanks again,

Steve
