Post subject:  CRD hard starting, smoking, and wouldn't stay above 1000RPM

My CRD wouldn't stay above 1000 rpm. If could get it above that it would run better. Seemed like it wanted to die when I was idling. I have had a check engine light turn on and off the past week or so.

I just changed fuel injectors because it was pouring out smoke. It helped but it is still doing a little.

I also did the glow plugs (got them from IDparts).

I also think that I have a coolant leak somewhere. But I don't ever see it on the ground. I have gone threw about a gallon this past 4-6 weeks. I did order a new overflow tank because I think it has always leaked from the tank but not nearly this much. It is not in the oil, and there is still some white smoke that comes out of the exhaust until it heats up.

It has 170xxx miles on it. It did have the timing belt done. The smoke is like a whitish grey, I took it into the dealer when it happened and they said it was fuel injectors. That one of them was bad, and another was going bad.

It did this one other time where it wouldn't stay above 100 rpm and I turned it off and turned it back on and it was fine. And that was probably over a year ago.

For about a week it has been hard starting also. I have to hold the key and give it a little more gas than normal.

PLEASE HELP

The fact that there's visible smoke, and disappearing coolant would suggest either your head gasket has blown or you have a cracked head. Anyway you can smell the exhaust?
