I had some electrical problems the last two years, and I had three shops work on it. I am in good shap now, but I had my temp gauge go just past center the other day for the first time ever on a hot day in traffic, and it scared the crap out of me thinking of my head gasket.

I turned the heat on and the needle went back to normal and has been fine for over a month. I was curious to know why I didn't hear my electric fan kick on, so I looked around the compartment and realized that the wires are cut off at the plug connector directly behind the passenger headlight. I can't even find the other end of the wire that would lead back to the harness.

One of the three shops obviously cut it, but I'm not sure why. I guess a ground fault? Has anyone had this issue? Would it be easy or worth it to find a way to re power the fan?

I am upset that someone took the initiative to eliminate the fan when I would have been willing to pay to fix the problem had I been given the option.

I have had several grounding issues and the Module under the battery had to be replaced because it rusted right through the housing. I had a Christmas tree on my dashboard every time it rained. I'm wondering if the new controller didn't play nice with the fan so they cut it. I had to take it back after the install because my sunroof, brights, and fog lights didn't work. They had forgotten to add relays to it or something.

I see no good reason for doing that.
I the fan was the problem the fan should have been replaced not cut the wires.

Maybe the motor seized and the sloppy mechanic just cut the wires? Or maybe they cut it by mistake? Yes, it's obviously stupid... Can you try the motor to see if it works?
