I know there is an electric fan, but I thought it was control by the a/c or something like that. And for the one pushing and one pulling, I think it should work fine cuz right now the electric fan is pushing and the mechanical fan is pulling and I believe there is a couple of people here that has the FF dynamic electric fan install on there Libby. Was just wondering if the 3.7liter electric fan would fit before I get rid of it.
For those of you who deleted the mechanic fan, do you have any problem with overheating in hot weather or when towing?
I have the ff dynamics fan but honestly, I barely tow couple thousand pounds few times a year. I got stuck this winter with the jeep in the backyard in 2 ft of frozen snow, and I tried pulling out without towing. I reved the engine periodically to 3-3.5 k with 4wd high part time and I made it out at some point. The ff dynamics fan didn't kick in (it reads the temperature from the radiator so because of being cold and the probe may have been colder than usually) and the temps went a tick to the right on the gauge. I manually started the fan when I saw it and within 10 seconds the temps went to normal, a tick to the left. This is not an issue with the fan or its capacity but more an issue with the probe reading of the temperature.
My advice is to stick to the Hayden heavy duty mechanical fan if you tow more than couple thousand pounds, otherwise the efan is an excellent upgrade. I have never had an issue with overheating, more than that, in the heat of the summer and city drive stop and go on 90-95 degrees, the fan starts and runs for maybe 20-30 seconds and then it stops for about 1-1.5 minutes. I consider that for my non heavy duty towing, the efan is an excellent upgrade.
