My question is, I have a V6 3.7l electric fan with shroud doing nothing in my garage and I am wandering if it fit in the CRD after removing the mechanical fan? The shroud look like the same.

Your CRD should already have an electric fan in front of the radiator.
Adding another electric fan, mounted with one pushing and one pulling, might not work very well.
But then again it might. I've never seen it done that way.
You could try it and let us know how well it works.

Personally, I would just go with one electric fan.
I removed the engine driven fan a couple years ago and am only using the stock CRD electric.
Its worked fine for me, even in FL summers.
But I have never towed anything.

I know there is an electric fan, but I thought it was control by the a/c or something like that. And for the one pushing and one pulling, I think it should work fine cuz right now the electric fan is pushing and the mechanical fan is pulling and I believe there is a couple of people here that has the FF dynamic electric fan install on there Libby. Was just wondering if the 3.7liter electric fan would fit before I get rid of it.

For those of you who deleted the mechanic fan, do you have any problem with overheating in hot weather or when towing?

I have the ff dynamics fan but honestly, I barely tow couple thousand pounds few times a year. I got stuck this winter with the jeep in the backyard in 2 ft of frozen snow, and I tried pulling out without towing. I reved the engine periodically to 3-3.5 k with 4wd high part time and I made it out at some point. The ff dynamics fan didn't kick in (it reads the temperature from the radiator so because of being cold and the probe may have been colder than usually) and the temps went a tick to the right on the gauge. I manually started the fan when I saw it and within 10 seconds the temps went to normal, a tick to the left. This is not an issue with the fan or its capacity but more an issue with the probe reading of the temperature.

My advice is to stick to the Hayden heavy duty mechanical fan if you tow more than couple thousand pounds, otherwise the efan is an excellent upgrade. I have never had an issue with overheating, more than that, in the heat of the summer and city drive stop and go on 90-95 degrees, the fan starts and runs for maybe 20-30 seconds and then it stops for about 1-1.5 minutes. I consider that for my non heavy duty towing, the efan is an excellent upgrade.

The best option for heavy towing is the Hayden Fan Clutch and a 3.7 nylon fan. This does not move quite as much air as the stock metal fan, but you take a little less of an MPG hit when the clutch is not engaged.

Thanks for all the infos. I don't think I will be towing heavy anyway, but tou never know, so I will probably go with the Hayden clutch fan and remove it during the winter

The 3.7L E-Fan requires quite a bit of modifications to work. The lower mounting tabs line up but the top mounts with the bolts are off significantly, it is necessary to fabricate new upper mounts. I am currently modifying one to use, not sure what I will use yet to control it.

Take pictures during the fabrication and installation and let us know how it goes

Working with the fan I have, (2 pin fan out of an 2002) I wish i would have got a newer one with the 3 pin connector so it would be plug and play for the wiring.

So I got lucky, mine is out of a 2003 :D There is so much mods to do to make this beast better, it is on the list right now, just have to get to it.
