Whats the best source for a replacement cylinder head?

IDparts has a new VM head for $1760.

MoparOne.com has a reman head for $1300.

Ebay seller dp.automotive.ltd in the UK has a used one for about $600 plus $100 shipping.

I always prefer getting new items, even though many times remaned worked fine. I'd get new as long as you plan on keeping the jeep at least 5 more years. Another alternative is to get the cheapest, keep the jeep for a bit more and then sell it.

Got a slightly used one at VW specialists for about $500, what is the difference if i put a slightly used head on a used engine? Lets see $800 to $1300 still in my pockets makes it all worth while.

Are all VM 2.8 cylinder heads the same?
Do different casting numbers mean anything?

Mine is 90352046F. But I have seen some with 90352040F.

Have you confirmed that your was indeed cracked? The sealant you mentioned has me wondering if the head gasket didn't seal. Might be worth taking it to a different machine shop to have it tested.

I pressure tested the cooling system with the camshafts removed and all valves closed.
Water came dripping out two of the exhaust ports.
To me, thats a clear indication of cracks around the exhaust valve area.
Unless you know of another possibility?
