06 2.8L liberty CRD. 165K miles

While leaving from a stop light I heard an audible pop and lost all power as well as could no longer hear that turbo hum. I assumed I had blow a turbo hose and was about 20 miles from home so I limped it back. Removed the upper hose from the turbo, started the engine and blocked off the hose to verify that it was sucking air. Removed the hose from the intercooler and blocked of the inlet and engine immediately bogged down and almost died. Diagnosis - blown upper hose. Ordered hose (Amazon $50 with express shipping for OE hose) replaced but first verified that blocking off the hose bogged the engine. Everything went back together, turbo hum is back but I still have now go power. Do I need to reset something. I'm in no mood to go to my local dealer as they absolutely suck and I've vowed to never darken their door again.

FYI. I do all the work on this vehicle and have since 80,000 miles. Most of the available mods have been done (elephant hose, ORM, lift pump, ect) as well as timing belt associated misc parts @ 150,000 miles.

ANY IDEAS.

The vacuum solenoids for the turbo are known to go bad and cause low boost.
You should be getting a turbo under-boost code.

Just to be thorough, check all your intake and turbo hoses.
And while you're at it, check the turbo impeller shaft for excessive play.

I replaced that solenoid 2 years ago, had the same loss of power, and a code.

that part is easy to find.

Good luck..
