So I run my CRD on B100 and have for the entirety that I've owned it, dropping to lower blends in the brutal cold. So I got some bad Bio with a high glycerin content and started blowing black smoke. I thought it was my EGR Valve and brought it to a mechanic that agreed. Rather than replace it I did the Green Diesel Engineering ECO Mod to the ecm bypassing the EGR. Just got it back have noticeably more pep but it's still smoking. Will I need to log some miles to "clear it out" or does it sound like I misdiagnosed it? Thanx in advanced.

If you got a bad tank of fuel you might need to change your fuel filter.
You can also try one of the PowerService products like BioClean.

You should also keep an eye on your oil level and maybe check your turbo impeller shaft to make sure that the smoke is not from oil being dumped into the exhaust.

Black smoke is usually from too much fuel being burned and not enough air.
If you have a turbo boost problem, you can get black smoke out the exhaust and would probably notice some loss of power.
If its not a boost problem, then it might be an injector problem.

Black smoke on a diesel generally means over fueling. The first thing I would check is the intercooler hoses to make sure your boost is getting to the intake.

Oil smoke tends to be bluish.
White smoke for coolant and unburnt fuel (cold start, no fire on some cylinders)
