Noticed this on VM Motori's website tonight. I swear those are VW pushrod tubes, seals, and pushrods. "High performance diesel" next to sub 100 HP VW engine parts. ![]() I noticed because I was looking at VMs website, looks like I will be working about 2.5 hours from them for the next two weeks in Italy. |

Cool, can I go too? Lived there long ago. My landlord had a new(ugly) Alfa Romeo Alfetta turbo-diesel. Took me for a ride on the big road and showed me the zoom. He told me it was a vm motori which I'd never heard of. I was shocked Alfa wasn't using their own design engine since they did engines so well. My guess was they wanted to break into the taxi market. I drove an Alfetta GTV at the time... just a tachometer in front of the driver. Just keep the needle pointed down the road and everything was fast and happy. Great car! My landlord's Alfa turbo-diesel was a new model so there were more of them around. I saw one other older Alfa Romeo diesel as I came out of a restaurant one night. Didn't know Alfa had ever done a diesel so I told the kid driving it to shut it off before it explodes. He popped the hood for me. It was diesel from the factory with an aftermarket LP capability added. Yes! those do look like VW parts. Maybe they're Porsche. |

Yep, all the items pictured are VW air cooled motor parts, pushrod tubes, seals, piston wrist pin locking clips, pushrods, and cam lifter followers.... Strange they are pictured on the VM site??? I know these engines well: During the 60's through the 90's I rebuilt hundreds of them. I also worked at five different VW dealerships in different jobs as a mechanic, shop forman, and service manager when I left the last one. We used to build them up with headers, big cams, roller cranks, big piston sets, and duel 2-barrel carbs and race them at the local drag strip... |

Ya the parts match the wasserboxer too. But some of the seals and lifters there did not look identicle. Funny. |
