So I will be replacing the Chinese turbo on my Libby this weekend. Ordered new from idparts. I know I can figure it out, but do you guys that have done them do you have tips to give? I have looked for instructions online I have not seen any. It does not look bad but I have said that many times when getting into cars/trucks I have never touched before. Thank you |

Start soaking the nuts with Panther piss(pb blaster) now. The drain line is kinda a pain in the butt. Just be patient and take your time. When I put them back on, I always leave the nuts a little loose to give some play for putting the drain plug back on. But the downside to that is an extension won't fit through there and one nut is a pain to get too. I guess you trade one monkey for another |

I actually just went through this whole process. Its actually not that bad, just take your time and think about what you are doing. The turbo drain gave me some trouble, i had to disconnect it from the turbo and then was able to slide it out sideways. It will not come out at any sort of angle. The nuts that hold the turbo on are copper pinch nuts and will be tight basically right away. This is normal, dont let it scare you. This however means that the ones on the jeep are going to fight you pretty much the whole way off. I did this with my jeep on the ground, laying on my back. It was not the most fun. Good luck. |
